My Background
I have a corporate background working for many years as an accountant specialising in risk advisory. What I liked about my previous career is the part of my role which involved the mentoring and training of new and junior staff. Following a series of major life changes, and a lot of personal therapy, I decided to retrain so that I can help others going through difficult times.
Since qualifying I have gone on to train as a couple’s therapist and clinical supervisor for other counsellors. I am also a tutor, teaching level 4 & 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.
Outside of work, I have a busy family and social life. I am a creative person; I love to paint and potter about in the garden. I have a lived experience of neurodivergence, have a million thoughts and ideas buzzing around my head and love to read.
Working with me
I believe that everyone has the potential for change and personal growth. Sometimes, life’s challenges can make us feel stuck, but with the right support, clarity and guidance, we can overcome these obstacles. My role is to facilitate this process in a relaxed and collaborative way, helping you see things more clearly and tackle difficulties with confidence.
You are an individual with unique experiences and issues; therefore, your counselling will be tailored to you, assisting you in exploring and understanding your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will help you find new ways to solve problems, grow in confidence and develop more meaningful relationships with yourself and others.
I work with adults, individuals, couples and families. I offer both short term solution focused therapy, using CBT and other tools and longer-term more person-centred therapy. I have a vast array of tools and techniques for all manner of issues that have proven to be incredibly beneficial in repairing and healing the lives of those I have worked with. I have also helped many clients make real changes in their lives through hypnotherapy. Whether this was to help with stress and anxiety, habits, fears or phobias, improving confidence and self-esteem, weight management, or to stop smoking.
