About

My Background

I have a corporate background working for many years as an accountant specialising in risk advisory. Following a series of major life changes, and a lot of personal therapy, I decided to retrain so that I can help others going through difficult times.

Since qualifying I have gone on to train as a couple’s therapist and clinical supervisor for other counsellors. I am also a tutor, teaching level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.

Working with me

You are unique, therefore your counselling will be tailored to your needs, assisting you in exploring and understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I will help you find new ways to solve problems, grow in confidence and develop more meaningful relationships with yourself and others.

I work in a supportive and facilitative way but can also be direct and provide gentle challenge, working with young people (16+) and adults, individuals, couples and families. I offer both short term (6-8 weeks) solution focused therapy, using CBT tools and longer-term person-centred therapy, as well as other creative ways of working. I have a vast array of tools, techniques and templates for all manner of issues that have proven to be incredibly beneficial in repairing and healing the lives of those I have worked with.

I have also helped many clients make real changes in their lives through hypnotherapy. Whether this was to help with stress and anxiety, habits, fears or phobias, improving confidence and self-esteem, weight management, or stop smoking.

My areas of expertise

Whilst I specialise in helping client’s withy anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, I have extensive experience helping with many other issues such as depression, stress, loss and grief.

I would describe my working style as being respectful and collaborative.  Whilst I am supportive, empathetic, and compassionate, I can also be very direct, interjecting when needed, so it's important to let your feelings be known to me.

I believe that everyone has the potential for change and personal growth. Sometimes, life’s challenges can make us feel stuck, but with the right support, clarity, and guidance, we can overcome these obstacles. My role is to facilitate this process in a relaxed and collaborative way, helping you see things more clearly and tackle difficulties with confidence.
